To get started you will need to do the following: –
To Initiate Custom Boot:
Turn the computer off and plug the USB in Power on the machine while repeatedly pressing the machine’s special boot key. This special boot key varies between different computer manufacturers.
Below is a list of the most common models and their corresponding keystroke:
- Dell Tap F12 when the Dell logo is displayed.
- HP Tap F9 when the HP logo is displayed.
- Lenovo Tap F12 when the Lenovo logo is displayed.
- Toshiba Tap F12 or F2 when the Toshiba logo appears.
- Acer Tap F12 as the Acer logo appears.
- Otherwise tap Esc, F1-12, or Enter during bootup.
Please also note the F Keys known as function keys may be multifunctional and require you to hold the function key commonly shown as the FN then the F Key combined. For example, FN key plus F12.
Boot from USB:
If the correct keystrokes were made, a menu will appear that will display a number of boot options. Use the arrow keys to highlight and the enter key on your keyboard to select the USB device that represents your live USB installer.
Note: Depending on the specifics of your machine, your USB installer will be described on the menu as USB device;USB storage, or a name that matches the brand of the USB flash manufacturer.
You may need to disable secure boot within the bios which is usually located in the boot options.
